Summary:

In the small town of Bedford Falls, George Bailey has always dreamed of traveling the world, building great things, and living a life far from his humble beginnings. But over the years, his sense of duty and compassion keep him rooted—running his late father’s Building and Loan, protecting the townspeople from the greedy banker Mr. Potter, and putting the needs of others before his own ambitions. On Christmas Eve, a misplaced deposit threatens to ruin George’s reputation and his business. Overwhelmed and convinced the world would be better off without him, George is ready to give up. That’s when Clarence, an angel second class, is sent to earn his wings by showing George the true impact of his life. Through a powerful journey, George sees how deeply he has touched the lives of his family, friends, and community, and he learns that no one who has friends is truly poor.
