Audition Form: The Hobbit

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Quack Pack’s “The Hobbit”

The Hobbit follows the unlikely hero Bilbo Baggins, a comfort-loving hobbit whose quiet life is turned upside down when the wizard Gandalf and a company of thirteen dwarves invite him on an unexpected adventure. Their quest is to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and its treasure from the fearsome dragon Smaug.

Along the way, Bilbo encounters trolls, goblins, giant spiders, elves, mysterious creatures, and the unforgettable Gollum. As the journey unfolds, Bilbo discovers courage, loyalty, and a strength he never knew he possessed, proving that even the smallest person can change the course of history.

This audition is open to actors from the ages of 6-18.

AUDITIONS:

Date: August 23rd, 2026
Time: Auditions begin at 2:00 PM
Location: Elwood Opera House; 202 South Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana
Who Can Audition: This production is open to ages 6-18.
Experience Needed: None! All levels welcome.

What to prepare:

  • Actors should come prepared to deliver a memorized 30 to 60 second dramatic monologue which demonstrates some range

  • Video auditions are permitted. They need to be submitted to bekahwalters@gmail.com and They must be received NO LATER than midnight August 22nd.

Rehearsals:

  • Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning at 6:00pm until 8:30pm at the Elwood Opera House

TECH WEEK & PERFORMANCES:

Tech Weeks starts on Sunday, November 8th, 2026 with performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - with two performances on Saturday. 

FINALLY, if you state on your AUDITION APPLICATION that you would be willing to accept any role, please keep your word. If you have a preferred role, please list it.  However, withdrawing from a production after the cast list has been announced will make it difficult for you to be cast in future productions.  Thanks for understanding!
