Audition Form: Guys & Dolls
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Duck Creek Players’ Guys and Dolls!
This production is open to auditioners ages 18 and above.
Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.
Please note there are two forms that must be completed to audition:
General Audition Sign-Up Form – This reserves your audition slot and collects basic contact info.
Additional Required Information Form – This includes important additional information.
Both forms must be completed to receive your audition time and materials.

What to prepare:
Vocal Audition Piece: 16 bars (no longer than one minute). Focus on the best vocal moments, not an entire song. This is your time to show off! Accompanist will NOT be provided. Please bring a track. A Bluetooth speaker will be provided.
When you come into the audition room, please perform a basic slate before your audition song (i.e. introduce yourself and let us know what you will be singing). Once you finish your piece you may be asked to sing a few notes along with the piano so that we can assess your vocal range.
Dance Audition Piece: Auditions will include a short dance portion.
For the dance portion, there will be two combinations:
Advanced Combo – for those interested in lead or teen roles (this will be more challenging and high-energy)
Basic Combo – for those open to adult or ensemble roles
Dancers should choose the combo that best fits the type of role they’d like to be considered for.
Audition materials (including dance videos and any additional requirements) will be shared ahead of time so performers can come prepared. This audition material will be emailed after your audition form is submitted and your audition slot has been confirmed.
