Audition Form: Dracula

*You must be 18 years old by the time of auditions to audition. We will not consider anyone who cannot attend all dress rehearsals during the week of our performances .

AUDITIONS:
Auditions for Dracula will be July 26, 2025 at 5:30. Please be at the Elwood Opera House by 5:20 so we can start on time.
All actors, including Nosferatu, should choose a monologue from the following list. The monologue must be memorized. Choosing a monologue of a certain character does not mean you will only be considered for that part. Unless you have specified on your audition form, you will be considered for all applicable parts. Please review all of the monologues as you may be asked to read from them. Only one needs to be memorized.
PRACTICES: Dracula will rehearse on Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Wednesday nights 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. All rehearsals will be at the Historic Elwood Opera House.
FINALLY, if you state on your AUDITION APPLICATION that you would be willing to accept any role, please keep your word. If you have a preferred role, please list it. However, withdrawing from a production after the cast list has been announced will make it difficult for you to be cast in future productions. Thanks for understanding!
CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Dracula- male, 40+, must be able to do cold reads in an eastern European accent, very proper and regal.
Harker: male, 18+, protagonist, lawyer hoping to advance his career, engaged to Mina, somewhat weak and mild.
VanHelsing- male, 18+, doctor at the sanatorium and resident expert on vampires, once courted Lucy, wise and intelligent.
Renfield- male, 18+, patient at the sanatorium and henchperson of Dracula, very disturbed.
Captain/Attendant/Butler- male, 18+, strong and self-sacrificing.
Mina- female, 18+, Harker’s fiancé/wife, Lucy’s best friend, caring and strong.
Lucy- female, 18+, Dracula’s intended victim, must be both bubbly and evil.
Bride 1- female, 18+, vampire, spooky
Bride 2- female, 18+, vampire, spooky
Bride 3- female, 18+, vampire, spooky
Nosferatu- any gender, 18+, the Nosferatu are costumed actors who will also move set pieces, they have no lines, but they have parts where they are acting and parts where they move set pieces. They are generally creepy.
Anyone who would like to be considered for the part of a Nosferatu must audition.
